I am honored to be in this inspiring magazine! I love how they designed my 14-page feature, the fonts they used, and the photos they selected.
This story is all about my process in the creation of my art in all its many forms, and how important my garden is to me in everything I do, especially because when I stand at my worktable and look out of my big studio window, it is flowers and bushes and trees that I see, as if I am right in nature's midst.
My feature is a celebration of Summer here at River Garden Studio!

Sharing my passion
I have often thought what greater way for an artist to share their passion about the art that they love than to teach. When I think and talk about teaching, I am really talking about being a guide. I love to learn new methods and processes and to teach them, but when I am teaching I feel that I am a guide. A guide to helping you tell your own story through art, a muse to inspire you, and a vessel of inspiration for you to draw from. What I loved about my own teachers is that by believing in me, they helped me believe in myself.
I would love to share this gift with you!

On My Worktable
Renewal: the state of being made new, fresh, or strong again
Before I begin a project I love to collect and spread out small objects that inspire me. I take a walk through our gardens and under the trees. I cut a flower, pick up a stick or feather, and find a leaf or stone that calls to me and bring them into my studio. Then I spread them out carefully and arrange them, intuitively and almost without thinking...and photograph them. This is what you see here, from different days or months at my home in River Garden Studio.
This process helps connect me to the earth, the seasons, and helps me feel renewed.
